For reasons of public interest, and in agreement with the Local Planning Authority, the decision was made on 11th November 2021 to withdraw the Section 73 application (which sought to validate changes to the layout of the plant within the same agreed planning boundary) and to submit a more detailed Section 73a application. The updated application will allow the project to clarify some of the misinformation currently circulating around the scheme, by providing an extensive range of technical reports, and to further update the scheme with latest technology and best practice.
The submission of a Section 73a application will enable the project team to further enhance the scheme by considering additional environmental benefits and best practice – this would not have been possible under the previous Section 73 application.
The preparation of the Section 73a involves updating a number of technical reports, and therefore is likely that the application will be submitted in the first two weeks of December. You can find more information about the planning history to date here.
